Defying the traditional parallelism found in shoe stores – lines and lines of boxes in rectangular shelves – Camper’s first store in the US surprises the visitor with a curved benches and , coupled with original use of mirrors.

Benedetta Tagliabue’s design for Camper’s first American location utilizes fun house mirrors that distort your reflection, rugged surfaces on a long walk, and the creation of the shoe itself.

The result is a bright, graphic store with walls of mirrors, snaking silver , and ribbed wooden shelving units covered with a dripping overlay of reflective metal. In the centre of the shop, a boot-shaped shelf undulates into a low bench, while red, white and mirrored silhouettes of heels and sneakers blend into one.
